The Gutshof Ladenburg - History, Present and Future Visions
The Romans stumbled upon the stunning location of the current Gutshof Ladenburg in 98 AD. Based upon the discovery of its beauty they decided that it would be an excellent place to lay down some stone and today this stone is still the core foundation of the estate. During this time the estate became known as “Rose Garden,” due to the plentiful rose gardens and its enchanting aroma. The ruling of the Romans fell to the Lorsch Abbey in 799 AD and was then sold to the canons of Neuhausen, located near Worms, in 1199. In 1833 the Gutshof Ladenburg was passed over to the Lord of Weinheim and Limburgerhof, Mr. Theodor Waldner, the husband of the Countess of Berckheim. The Berckheims’ owned the premises until 1930; during their time of ownership they increased the reputation of the land by organizing horse races at an international level. In 2008 the Gutshof Ladenburg acquired the nursery garden Huban, which in 2014 was set into a long-term lease to the matrix of Heidelberg GmbH.
Due to the cooperation with Heidelberg Advertising Agency, this single piece of estate is now one of the most beautiful and largest event locations in the Rhein-Neckar area. For the purpose of events, the two main halls have been completely renovated whilst keeping the beauty of the historic appearance. Some modern features that have been incorporated into the renovation, such as floor heating and extension for a catering, as well as, modern sanitary facilities and a spacious patio with a stunning garden. The halls or meeting rooms have been equipped to handle the latest technology. There is future anticipation for accommodation plans, which will be found directly on the Estate for guests to retire to after their festivities.
One of the most beloved details to this estate is that it is central located between Heidelberg and Mannheim, but still engulfed with an attractive rural surrounding; ideal to hold large festivities without disturbing local neighbors. Due to the outstanding traits of the Gutshof Ladenburg it has become one of the leading event locations within the Rhein-Neckar region, catering to wedding parties, corporate events and anniversary celebrations.
